Rönesans Holding Wins ‘Global Infrastructure Deal of the Year’ Award for the Nakkaş-Başakşehir Motorway Project
The Nakkaş-Başakşehir Section of the Northern Marmara Motorway, to be implemented by Rönesans Holding and its subsidiaries, has won the ‘Global Infrastructure Deal of the Year’ award at the UK’s PFI Awards, organised by Project Finance International (PFI), a publication of the London Stock Exchange Group.
In October last year, Rönesans Holding secured financing from international financial institutions for the Nakkaş-Başakşehir Section of the Northern Marmara Motorway, a project valued at €1.43 billion, designed to alleviate İstanbul’s traffic congestion. Led by Rönesans Holding and its subsidiaries, the project is being developed under a build-operate-transfer (BOT) model within a consortium that includes leading Korea-based international partners such as Samsung C&T Corporation, KIND, KDB KIAMCO, and Korea Expressway Corporation. The financing of the project is supported by a reputable group of global financial institutions, including the EBRD, AIIB, IsDB, ICD, Atradius, SERV, KUKE, ICIEC, Deutsche Bank, VakıfBank, Natixis, Standard Chartered, and Bank of China.
With the Nakkaş-Başakşehir project, we are setting a new benchmark in Türkiye s transportation sector, and the fact that it is the only build-operate-transfer (BOT) motorway project in Türkiye to be fully financed by foreign banks highlights Rönesans Holding's inherent ability to structure financing.
