Infrastructure Investments Continue Unabated at DAPEK
As part of the vision to establish DAPEK as one of Türkiye’s leading hubs for high value-added industrial and petrochemical production, the first phase of the critical infrastructure that will serve investors within the zone has been implemented. The total investment value of the projects at DAPEK has reached USD 3 billion. In the energy infrastructure, Siemens’ Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) technology will be utilized at the transformer substation, which is planned to be commissioned in the first half of 2027. To enhance energy supply security, the infrastructure will be reinforced with a redundant power transformer system totaling 2x125 MW in capacity in the first phase. Orders for higher-capacity transformers for the second phase are planned to be placed in 2027.
On the water infrastructure side, construction has been initiated on the pre-filtration facilities and transmission line, which constitute the first phase of a water supply system with a capacity of 300 liters per second.
In line with the long-term sustainability vision, desalination investments that will enable the use of treated seawater, as well as renewable and green energy generation projects, are planned to be implemented in subsequent phases.
While the robust infrastructure required by investors at DAPEK is being developed, contributions are also being made to the region’s long-term growth in the industrial and petrochemical sectors.
