Rönesans Enerji to Invest in 51 MW of Green Energy for RGY

13 April 2026
Rönesans Enerji will invest in a total of 51 MW of green energy capacity, including a wind power plant in İzmir and a solar power plant in Kırşehir, to meet the self-consumption needs of RGY.

Rönesans Enerji to Invest in 51 MW of Green Energy for Rönesans Gayrimenkul Yatırım’s Self-Consumption

Rönesans Enerji continues its investments at a rapid pace, in line with its goal of becoming one of Türkiye’s top three green energy companies, and is launching two new projects to meet the self-consumption needs of its group company, Rönesans Gayrimenkul Yatırım. Under this initiative, the company will invest in projects with a total capacity of 51 MW, including a 35 MW wind power plant in İzmir and a 16 MWp solar PV plant in Kırşehir.

Under an agreement signed between Rönesans Enerji and Rönesans Gayrimenkul Yatırım, Türkiye’s first 20-year Renewable Energy Investment and Supply Agreement (YEYTA) model has been introduced. Under this model, in which the investment and operational processes are undertaken by the energy generation company, Rönesans Enerji will establish and operate the energy facilities required by Rönesans Gayrimenkul Yatırım. In this context, facilities with a total installed capacity of 51 MW will be developed, including a 35 MW wind power plant in İzmir and a 16 MWp solar PV plant in Kırşehir. With this installed capacity, approximately 142 million kWh of annual generation is expected. Through this collaboration, approximately 70% of the total electricity demand of the assets in the Rönesans Gayrimenkul Yatırım portfolio will be met.

Emre Hatem, President of the Energy Group at Rönesans Holding, stated that with the Renewable Energy Investment and Supply Agreement (YEYTA) model signed with their group company, Rönesans Gayrimenkul Yatırım, they have achieved another first in Türkiye: “In the Renewable Energy Investment and Supply Agreement (YEYTA) model, an example of which we have implemented with our real estate group company, the entire investment cost is covered by Rönesans Enerji. While all processes, such as project development, construction, procurement, financing, commissioning, and operation, are carried out by Rönesans Enerji, the consumer can procure green electricity tailored to their needs without bearing any investment burden. In this way, it is aimed to reduce both greenhouse gas emissions and electricity costs. In addition, consumers can secure their unlicensed generation rights within their consumption capacity under a 20-year agreement, without assuming investment or operational risks.”

Highlighting that this model enables the supply of green electricity at discounted rates, Emre Hatem said, “Thanks to this structure, which does not require the consumer to allocate capital for electricity generation, distributed generation projects are implemented with the expertise of energy generation companies, just like licensed projects. This allows the consumer to focus on its core business and continue using its capital in its main areas of activity. This approach contributes to increased efficiency both at a sectoral level and across the broader economy.”

ALL ELECTRICITY NEEDS OF THE RGY PORTFOLIO TO BE MET

Yağmur Yaşar, General Manager of Rönesans Gayrimenkul Yatırım, stated that thanks to energy management and efficiency measures implemented since 2017, assets have been managed proactively through central automation and energy monitoring systems, supported by LED conversion projects. Emphasising that these efforts have delivered tangible results, Yaşar noted that, as of the end of 2025, common area electricity consumption per unit of gross leasable area in shopping centres has been reduced by 60.4% compared to 2017.

Referring to projects carried out as part of the transition to green energy, Yaşar stated that the company aims to meet 100% of the energy needs of all its projects from renewable sources by 2028. In this context, he noted that the Renewable Energy Investment and Supply Agreement signed with Rönesans Enerji will enable approximately 70% of the electricity consumption of the real estate assets within the Rönesans Gayrimenkul Yatırım portfolio to be sourced from green energy. He underlined that this agreement represents a major milestone in achieving the company’s sustainability targets.

Rönesans Enerji continues to contribute to the sustainability goals of its business partners while accelerating Türkiye’s energy transition through its innovative and reliable green energy solutions.
