Since its establishment in 1993, Rönesans Holding has always acted in line with its mission to create value for its employees and the community while fulfilling its ambition to be one of the ten best construction companies in the world. Furthermore, to create a better future in line with its values, Rönesans Holding embraces sustainability at the Board of Directors level, directing all its activities with an acute awareness of social and environmental responsibilities, and continues to implement exemplary projects and practices accepted by international authorities.
After signing the UN Global Compact in 2015, Rönesans Holding prioritises and implements the Sustainable Development Goals in all its activities. In addition, as a signatory of the WEPs (Women's Empowerment Principles) platform, we adopt the principles and rules within this scope. You can find details on these and more practices in the "Sustainability Report".
Rönesans Holding took into consideration the developments in current sustainability reporting standards, global trends, our Holding's long-term vision, best practice examples, and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) for the Engineering and Building Services, Real Estate and Construction sectors and material topics under the internationally accepted sustainability indexes. Stakeholder opinions on the identified material topics were collected through a stakeholder participation survey.
In addition to the managers and employees of the companies covered by the report, representatives of the shareholders, including Rönesans Holding Board of Directors and IFC, participated and responded to the survey. For external stakeholder opinions, a survey was conducted with representatives of international financial institutions, public institutions, suppliers and customers with whom we have regular communication.
The materiality of the impacts of key topics is included on the vertical axis of our matrix, prepared with the double materiality approach. In this context, the results of the effects of relevant topics have been compiled according to probability, magnitüde and maturity perspectives. Moreover, the financial magnitudes of the risks posed by material topics are shown on the horizontal axis. In order to determine the financial effects of all risks, we consulted with the relevant department managers and listed the actions taken by our Holding to eliminate these risks.
The issues included in the sustainability matrix also apply fully and without restriction to our global operations.
Sustainability activities at Rönesans Holding are carried out by the Sustainability Committee, which consists of 8 members, 3 of whom are women, to develop strategies and policies and integrate them into all activities. Under the leadership of the Chairman of the Board, the Committee consists of 6 Board members, the Holding's Corporate Sustainability Management Department, and other auxiliary members to be selected by the Committee. The Holding's Sustainability and Environment Manager participates in the Committee as required for technical and administrative work. Our Committee, whose mission is to define the sustainability strategies, vision and objectives to be implemented in the Holding, meets four times a year as part of its duties, powers and responsibilities.
The working groups set up to achieve the goals of the Sustainability Committee set sustainability goals in priority areas, propose projects and practices to be carried out to achieve these goals, form teams for approved projects and report progress to the Sustainability Committee on a regular basis.
