According to the Energy Deals 2023 Report published by PwC Türkiye, the purchase of 50% of Rönesans Enerji shares by TotalEnergies was one of the largest transactions of 2023!

Rönesans Enerji and Total Energies cooperation was published as one of the largest transactions of 2023 in PwC Turkey's Mergers and Acquisitions in the Turkish Energy Sector 2023 report.

The partnership agreement between TotalEnergies, one of the world's leading energy companies, and Rönesans Holding was signed on July 21, 2023. According to the agreement, 50% of the shares of Rönesans Enerji, a group company of Rönesans Holding, were purchased by TotalEnergies. 


In PwC Türkiye's annual 'Energy Deals 2023 Report,' analyzing mergers and acquisitions in the Turkish energy market, the purchase of 50% of Rönesans Enerji shares by TotalEnergies was published as one of the most considerable transactions of 2023. 

Under the leadership of Rönesans Holding President Erman Ilıcak, Rönesans continues to increase its investments in renewable energy in Türkiye significantly.

Continuing to grow with a 100% energy portfolio, Rönesans Enerji aims to:

  • Become one of the top three green energy companies in Türkiye,
  • Invest approximately 2 billion Euros in renewable energy and achieve a total installed capacity of 2,000 MW within the next 5 years in Türkiye,
  • Accomplish approximately 7% of the green energy investments projected by the Turkish National Energy Plan by 2028,
  • Prevent the import of approximately 1 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 3.5 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually due to these investments.
At the Rönesans Enerji Partnership Agreement Signing Ceremony between Rönesans Holding and TotalEnergies in 2023, Rönesans Holding President Erman Ilıcak highlighting Rönesans Enerji's goal to invest in 2,000 MW of installed capacity over the next 5 years, stated: "TotalEnergies choosing Türkiye as one of its main countries for growth in renewable energy and selecting Rönesans as a partner is valuable not only for us but also for the industry and our country. We are also delighted that this important collaboration represents one of the most extensive partnerships in terms of scope ever formed within the renewable energy sector in Türkiye."
