Container cities are being built for earthquake victims!
After the earthquake that caused the strongest tremors of the last century in Turkey, the business world has mobilized to heal the region's wounds. During this extremely challenging period, which has deeply saddened our entire country, Rönesans Holding, in the spirit of solidarity, continues to lend a helping hand to the earthquake-stricken region.
Relief efforts launched by the business world are continuing at full speed after the earthquake that hit ten provinces in southeastern Turkey. Rönesans Holding quickly mobilized, delivering urgent humanitarian aid to the region from the very first day. Rönesans completed the first container city in Malatya for 2,000 people in just two weeks by working non-stop and has also provided temporary shelter for 4,078 people in other provinces affected by the disaster. In addition, working alongside volunteer search and rescue teams, Rönesans Holding volunteers have rescued 189 people, including 23 children, from the rubble.
Container cities continue to be established
During the ongoing aftershocks, the first container city, "Malatya Yaşam Kent," was completed on a 6.5-acre land next to Malatya Erman Ilıcak Science High School to provide emergency shelter for earthquake victims. This container city provides temporary living space for 2,000 people and meets urgent needs with a dining hall that serves hot food for the entire region, mobile showers, and children's playrooms.
Following Malatya Yaşam Kent, Rönesans Holding has started preparations for new container cities in Adıyaman and Malatya. These cities will consist of 2,000 containers in total and provide temporary living space for approximately 10,000 people.
In Malatya Erman Ilıcak Science High School, Yenice Coordination Center, Kahramanmaraş Piazza Shopping Mall Regional Coordination Center, Adana City Hospital Project, and Gaziantep City Hospital Project, 2,000 Rönesans volunteers are meeting the immediate humanitarian needs of earthquake victims. At the same time, steps are being taken to create long-term sustainable solutions.
