More than just the provision of shelter, Rönesans Holding's container cities in Malatya and Adıyaman will provide proper homes for over 10,000 earthquake victims.
After the devastating earthquakes that hit 11 provinces on February 6, Rönesans Holding immediately took action, mobilizing a team of 2,000 volunteers to aid the victims. Together with İstanbul Başakşehir Municipality, Birleşim Engineering, and AFAD, Rönesans Holding completed the construction of container cities in Malatya and Adıyaman shortly after the earthquake. New residents have already started to occupy units in these cities, which will eventually accommodate over 10,000 earthquake victims.
Malatya Yaşam Kent is comprised of 1,510 containers and features three social facilities, four libraries, study areas, three women's centers, three youth centers, a counseling center, a nursery, as well as amenities such as security, police, AFAD, administrative units, a laundry, a mosque, a health center, sports facilities, children's playgrounds, and gazebos.
Mothers, Youth, and Child-friendly City of Life
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Malatya Governor Hulusi Şahin, Malatya Mayor Selahattin Gürkan, and several district mayors attended the opening ceremony of Malatya Yaşam Kent, where completed container houses were being provided to earthquake victims. During the ceremony, Rönesans Holding President Erman Ilıcak stated: "In Malatya, we have provided 1,510 containers to date, and we aim to deliver the remaining units by May 6. Our joint efforts and cooperation have been essential in achieving our primary goal of continuing to help those affected by the earthquake disaster. We stand in solidarity with Malatya during this immensely challenging time, and we are committed to working together to rebuild the city.”
10 thousand earthquake victims, including those from Adıyaman, will be provided with safe and comfortable living spaces
Aiming to ensure that earthquake victims can live in the most comfortable and convenient way possible until they move to their permanent residences, Rönesans Holding built a 500-container city available to earthquake victims in Adıyaman, in addition to the container city opened today in Malatya. Rönesans Holding, which will provide safe living spaces for a total of 10 thousand earthquake victims, is mobilizing all its means to establish not just temporary shelter centers but proper living spaces. Furthermore, Rönesans Holding acts with the support of NGOs to create special spaces for children and young people, to reintegrate women into the economy and social life, to help them acquire new skills as well as jobs, plus ensure that they receive the best psychological support throughout all these processes.
Rönesans has been in the field since the first day with 2,000 volunteers
Rönesans Holding, which has been active in the field with its volunteer team of 2 thousand people since the first day of the earthquake disaster, quickly participated in the search and rescue efforts, playing a crucial role in the rescue of 190 citizens from under the rubble. Within the first few hours of the earthquake, Rönesans Holding dispatched 147 pieces of construction machinery and delivered 254 critical aid trucks to the region to meet the immediate needs of earthquake victims. In addition, Rönesans Holding set up kitchens in the earthquake zones and distributed more than 1 million meals to those affected. On the first day, Malatya Erman Ilıcak Science High School and construction sites in the region were transformed into temporary shelters for over 2 thousand earthquake victims. Despite the widespread devastation caused by the earthquakes, all of Rönesans Holding's 200 building projects in the region were left intact, and our city hospital projects equipped with seismic isolators continued providing uninterrupted services.
