The successful partnership agreement made between Rönesans Holding and TotalEnergies in Rönesans Enerji in 2023 has been recognised with the prestigious 'Best Energy Deal' (Best Energy Deal in Central and Eastern Europe) award at the Project Finance Awards 2023 organised by EMEA Finance. To date, Rönesans Holding has invested over 8 billion Euros in Türkiye with its global partners, including GIC, Meridiam Infrastructure, Sojitz, Samsung C&T, TotalEnergies, and the World Bank institution IFC, which constitutes one of the minority shareholders of the group. In 2023, Rönesans Holding established a partnership with TotalEnergies in the field of renewable energy, which it views as a crucial strategic growth area, marking one of the largest-scale business partnerships in the history of the Republic of Türkiye.
PLANNING 2,000 MW INVESTMENT BY 2028
Emre Hatem, a Member of the Board and Energy Group President at Rönesans Holding, stated that TotalEnergies' selection of Türkiye as one of its main countries for growth in renewable energy and its decision to partner with Rönesans Enerji is both very important in a strategic sense and economically valuable. Emphasising that this collaboration is one of the most substantial business partnerships in terms of scope in Türkiye's renewable energy sector to date, Emre Hatem said: "With the 'Best Energy Deal' award from EMEA Finance, we have once again seen that this partnership represents a significant development not only for Rönesans Holding but also for the energy sector and Türkiye as a nation. After the 50-50% partnership agreement between Rönesans Holding and TotalEnergies in Rönesans Enerji, we accelerated our investments with the aim of becoming one of the top 3 green energy companies in the sector. At Rönesans Enerji, we plan to invest 2,000 MW in green energy by 2028. With the projects we have started and are developing, we aim to reach an installed capacity of 726 MW by the end of 2026 in the first phase. Over the next five years, we aim to realise approximately 7 to 10% of the green energy investments targeted by Türkiye's National Energy Plan."Rönesans Holding was also honoured with the 'Most Successful Long-Term Financing' award at the Achievement Awards 2022, organised by EMEA Finance, for Rönesans Sağlık Yatırım's 75 million Euro long-term financing from the EBRD for use in healthcare infrastructure investments.
