Hosted by the 30% Club Türkiye, the 11th Women Directors Conference took place on February 12 under the theme ‘Transformation Through the Power of Finance: Increasing Women’s Representation on Boards.’ The event brought together prominent figures from academia, the business world, and civil society.
According to the 2024 Women Directors in Türkiye Report by the 30% Club Türkiye, the number of female board chairs at companies listed on Borsa Istanbul (BIST) increased from 45 to 50, while the number of female CEOs rose from 23 to 25. Additionally, while the representation of women on boards in Türkiye stands at 18.7%, the number of companies meeting the Capital Markets Board’s target of 25% female board representation grew from 154 to 183. However, this still accounts for only 32.6% of all companies.
Rönesans Gayrimenkul Yatırım Honoured in the ‘Newly Public Companies’ Category
As part of the conference, companies that support gender equality at the boardroom level were recognised.
Rönesans Gayrimenkul Yatırım, the first Rönesans Holding company to be listed on Borsa Istanbul (BIST), received an award in the ‘Newly Public Companies of 2024’ category at the Women Empowered Boards Awards Ceremony, organised by the 30% Club Türkiye. The company was recognised for achieving 50% female representation on its board.
