Rönesans Enerji Signs EPC Contract for Its First Solar Power Plant Investment

Rönesans Enerji, which aims to invest $2 billion in 2 GW of green energy by 2028, has taken the first step towards realising its initial solar power plant (SPP) investment. With an installed capacity of 166 MW and an ongoing wind power plant (WPP) investment of 189 MW, Rönesans Enerji will be making a 4.6 MWp hybrid SPP investment.

Rönesans Enerji, a joint venture between Rönesans Holding and TotalEnergies, has signed the EPC contract for its first SPP investment with Cora Enerji. This investment is expected to prevent approximately 4,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.

Emre Hatem, Member of the Board of Directors of Rönesans Holding and Energy Group President, stated that Rönesans Enerji's first SPP investment would be integrated into the Kale Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP) and Osmancık HEPP, both of which are owned by Rönesans Enerji and located in Amasya. He explained that they would be installing a total of 4.6 MWp of hybrid SPP, with 3.5 MWp integrated into Kale HEPP and 1.1 MWp integrated into Osmancık HEPP. Hatem also noted that the plants are expected to be operational by the end of the year.

Currently, Rönesans Enerji has a total project capacity of 726 MW, with 166 MW operational, 194 MW under construction, and 366 MW in the development phase. With the planned total investment of 2 GW, Rönesans Enerji aims to achieve approximately 7% to 10% of the green energy investments projected in Türkiye's National Energy Plan by 2028.
