Record-breaking number of applications to the “Design the Sustainable Future” competition from young people!

Organized by Rönesans Holding, one of the leading construction companies in the world, the fourth annual “Design the Sustainable Future” competition saw a record-breaking number of applicants. May 11 is the deadline to register for the competition, to which a total of 3092 students applied from 144 different universities spanning seven regions of Turkey.
Building its corporate culture around sustainability, Rönesans Holding stands once again together with university students, who are the professionals of the future, for sustainable living. Europe’s 10th largest construction company and ranking 38th in the top 250 international contractors list, Rönesans Holding’s “Design the Sustainable Future” competition is still open for applications. In the competition, to which a total of 3092 students applied from 144 different universities spanning seven regions of Turkey, applicants will compete by developing eco-conscious projects that focus on an all-round sustainable life cycle where natural resources are used efficiently. In addition to receiving different financial awards, students who rank the highest will have the chance to participate in an internship program and various educational programs at Rönesans Holding. 

SOCIAL SUSTAINABILITY IS AT THE FOREFRONT THIS YEAR


At the Design the Sustainable Future Competition, which encourages future architects and engineers to think about and develop projects on the concept of ‘sustainability’, the participants are expected to come up with projects for mixed-use urban structures with a primary focus on social life, allowing for an efficient use of urban land and natural resources. Set out with the “Future Starts Here” slogan, the Design the Sustainable Future Competition draws a lot of attention to its special categories this year. This year, students’ projects will be assessed and awarded in the categories of “urban development and utilization”, “innovative idea and detailed solution”, “forward production and waste management”, “graphic design” and “social sustainability”. 

RÖNESANS REACHES OUT TO UNIVERSITY STUDENTS ACROSS TURKEY

Promotional meetings for the Design the Sustainable Future Competition, which now have new categories such as “urban development” and “social sustainability”, take place at different universities in different regions of Turkey. At the Sustainability Seminars, organized to promote the sustainability culture in universities with more than 3.000 students from a total of 10 universities, students gain valuable insight about both the competition and sustainable living. So far, these seminars have been organized at Kocaeli University, Akdeniz University, Gazi University, Yıldız Technical University, Süleyman Demirel University, Karadeniz Technical University, İnönü University, Atatürk University, Dokuz Eylül University and Fırat University will also be held at Selçuk University, Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University, Çukurova University, Necmettin Erbakan University and KTO Karatay University until May 11 (application deadline for the competition). The Compass, a social responsibility project providing employment at Rönesans, is also introduced at these seminars.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: MAY 11, 2018


Students who are studying Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical-Electronic Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Engineering and Urban and Regional Planning at universities in Turkey or Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus can participate in the competition. The application deadline is May 11, 2018. Students can apply to the “Design the Sustainable Future Competition” individually or as a group of maximum five people: the surdurulebilirlik.ronesans.com At the competition, a total of TL 120,000 will be awarded to the top three competitors with TL 20,000 for the first place, TL 16,000 for the first runner-up and TL 14,000 for the second runner-up
