Gaziantep City Hospital Awarded LEED Gold Certification!
Gaziantep City Hospital, developed through the collaboration of Rönesans Holding, Meridiam, Samsung C&T, and Istanbul Asset Management, has earned the prestigious LEED Gold Certification, one of the world's most esteemed green building certifications. This impressive achievement highlights the hospital's exceptional environmentally conscious engineering approach and energy-saving solutions.At Gaziantep City Hospital, energy-saving solutions were implemented with an environmentally friendly engineering approach focused on sustainability:
- 92% of construction waste was recycled.
- 57% water savings were achieved in outdoor areas.
- 42% water efficiency was achieved in indoor areas.
- More than 50% energy savings were achieved.
- 3D design programs and smart storage systems were applied for the use of rainwater in green areas.
- Siphonic systems were designed to easily resolve drainage issues.
- Electric devices were preferred to minimize the carbon footprint.
- Solar panels with an 8 kWh capacity, located on the roof of the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation building, were used for outdoor lighting, generating a total of 1.8 kWh of electricity.
- Solar panels on the main building were used to meet the hot water needs.

Since its opening in October 2023, Gaziantep City Hospital has served over 1.7 million patients. With a capacity of 1,875 beds, it is the largest city hospital in the region.
The Gaziantep City Hospital is an energy-efficient building project planned according to the infrastructure required for LEED Gold Certification.

The first and only in the region: SOMATOM Force
All medical equipment used in the hospital has been planned with the latest technology and infrastructure. For example, the SOMATOM Force device, one of only a small number employed in Türkiye and the only one in the region, allows for clear and comprehensive scanning with lower radiation exposure than a standard X-ray.With the SOMATOM Force, which has the capability to automatically position the patient to avoid issues arising from incorrect positioning, a total of 953 patients have successfully undergone 'Coronary CT Angiography' since the hospital's opening.
