Over the last ten years, only 35-40 percent of the construction of Gaziantep City Hospital could be completed due to disagreements between the previous parties and bankruptcies.” Emphasizing that after they had taken over the unfinished Gaziantep City Hospital project, they had managed the financing well and maintained advantageous loans from abroad, Dr. Ilıcak stated, "Let's make a promise right now to complete this health campus in June 2023. We have worked on the project for about one year with our outstanding teams. We have made all our plans. We signed our contract in August 2022 and took over the shares. We are here today with all of the problems solved. We have only 8-9 months to finish. A great deal of effort has been made to ensure that the region's people receive this service as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone for their incredible support.”
Dr. Ilıcak announced that a 51 percent share in Gaziantep City Hospital now belongs to MR (The Meridiam, Rönesans Yatırım Sağlık joint venture), while a 49 percent share belongs to Samsung and the other remaining partners. In addition to highlighting that a 50 million Euros investment in medical equipment will be made for the Gaziantep City Hospital project, Dr. Ilıcak pointed out that approximately 36 million people had been treated in hospitals implemented by Rönesans Sağlık Yatırım so far after a total investment of 3 billion Euros.
"We will write a success story for Gaziantep and Turkey”
During his speech at the ceremony, Samsung C&T Vice President Jung Wook Kim said, "Today is an important day for us. We are here for an extraordinary project in front of a great community. We have had our share of ups and downs with this project in the past. However, we are now extremely excited to be working with Rönesans, the country's top healthcare investor. In addition, we are happy to work with a global company like Meridiam. With our new partners, Rönesans and Meridiam, we are confident that we will successfully complete this important project. Together we will write a success story for Gaziantep and Turkey.”

Mr. Deau continued by saying that this new hospital, which is essential for the historical city of Gaziantep, will provide new employment to the region. Announcing that they will utilize the latest technology, Mr. Deau said they would make every effort possible to finish the project early. He concluded by thanking everyone who contributed to the project from the beginning.
Gaziantep Governor Davut Gül stated, "It will be extremely beneficial to the region when Turkey's fourth largest city hospital is completed in Gaziantep. With this hospital, Gaziantep will reach a bed capacity of 3,500, and we will achieve our goal of being a healthy city and the region's center in terms of healthcare. We are tremendously fortunate; it is reassuring to know that Rönesans and its partners have fulfilled their promises in the past years with great success. We trust Dr. Ilıcak and the whole team."
