Rönesans’ advance in the Netherlands extends to Rotterdam

24 July 2017
Rönesans Holding takes its PPP experience in the Turkish healthcare sector to Europe. Ballast Nedam, a subsidiary of Rönesans Holding, is poised to undertake a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) road and tunnel project of approximately 1 billion euro in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Set to be built in Rotterdam, a major hub in the Netherlands, the A24 Blankenburg-Verbinding project involves both existing and new infrastructure, and aims to improve access to the region.
The “A24 Blankenburg-Verbinding” project has been provisionally awarded to the consortium consisting of Ballast Nedam, a Rönesans Holding company, and DEME en Macquarie. According to an announcement by Rijkswaterstaat (The Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management of the Netherlands), the A24  Blankenburg-Verbinding Public-Private Partnership project, comprises the design of the existing and new infrastructure. Developer of key PPP healthcare projects in Turkey, Rönesans now proves its success in moving this experience to Europe, as well. This project will be managed by this consortium for 20 years, improving access to Rotterdam from other cities and surrounding regions in the Netherlands.

“WE REPRESENT TURKEY IN SEVERAL COUNTRIES ACROSS THE WORLD”

Cenk Düzyol, Chairman of the Board of Management at Ballast Nedam, delivered an account of this major project: “Unless an objection is submitted, the final contract will follow this provisional contract.” Pointing out that this project was part of the “Rotterdam Vooruit”, a master plan on Rotterdam Region for the 2020-2040 period, Düzyol added: “As a company of Rönesans Holding, we are proud to take part in such an important project for the Dutch social life and economy. At Rönesans, we continue to carry out major PPP projects to prove instrumental in Turkey’s health transformation. And now, we are delighted to take this accumulation of knowledge and experience to Europe.” Stressing that the project value is around 1 billion euro, Düzyol continued his remarks as follows:

“We, at Rönesans, successfully represent Turkey abroad with massive acquisitions in Europe. Having the Rönesans brand behind the biggest projects in European cities is a source of pride, not only for us but also for our country. We announced last year that Ballast Nedam, a company with around 150 years of experience, would incrementally increase our growth acceleration. The A24 Blankenburg-Verbinding Public-Private Partnership project as well as the Goothard Base Project have already turned out to be the most concrete fruits of our success story.
