Another global achievement by Rönesans Holding

Sheremetyevo Airport Terminal C, built by Turkish company Renaissance Construction, started operations on January 17, 2020. With the new terminal, Sheremetyevo Airport has become the largest airport complex in Russia.

Renaissance Construction, contractor of Sheremetyevo Airport Terminal C since June 2018, completed the final phase at Russia’s largest airport complex. All the contract works of the project was undertaken by Renaissance Construction subsidiary Energo-Stroy. Opened on January 17, 2020 with a ceremony, the Sheremetyevo Airport Terminal C consists of a terminal building spanning 127,000 square meters as well as auxiliary buildings. Meanwhile, Renaissance Construction built and opened to service a 2500-car multi-storey car park, 350–thousand-square-meter platform, and aerodrome for technical maintenance of large aircrafts. Renaissance had also constructed Sheremetyevo Airport’s Terminal B with a capacity of 15 million passengers, and two 2-kilometer tunnels for transporting passengers and luggage under the runways.

The company, which had previously built Terminal B of the same airport, had also constructed two 2-kilometer tunnels for transporting passengers and luggage under the runways. Completing the construction of the Terminal C building in June 2018, the Turkish company also signed a new contract for the reconstruction of one of the runways of the airport.

At the opening ceremony attended by a big crowd including Russia’s eminent public officials, Renaissance Construction Russia Chairman Avni Akvardar and General Manager of Energo-Stroy Hüseyin Çetin Çelik were presented with a token of appreciation each. The first commercial airliner to approach Terminal C was from Helsinki.

With the new terminal, which has an annual capacity of 20 million passengers, Sheremetyevo Airport’s annual passenger capacity has increased to 80 million. Russia’s largest airport complex with this new addition, Sheremetyevo Airport offers six terminals, four business lounges as well as a VIP lounge, and a 24/7 open 350-square-meter lounge that can accommodate 60 people, mostly families with children.
